These terms govern your use of the Wattz app and its services, published by Codzilla Sàrl, Rue Jardinière 75, 2300 La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland (“we”). By using Wattz, you accept them. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.
The service
Wattz is a cycling training app for smart trainers. Some of it is free: ERG mode, the workout of the day, the session library, the programmes, the workout builder, Smart Workout, your ride reports, stats and badges. Premium adds the GPX Simulator (route import and the route builder included), RACE and PLAN. The app keeps evolving: features may be added, changed or, exceptionally, removed.
Your account
On first launch, Wattz creates a guest account for you, with no sign-up. You can turn it into a full account with an email address, Apple or Google. An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself: what is done with your account is your responsibility. You can delete your account at any time in the app, underSettings › Account.
Premium subscription
- Premium is sold through the App Store or Google Play, as a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and the length of each period are shown in the store before you confirm.
- A free trial may be offered to new subscribers. Its length is shown before you subscribe. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and is charged.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before.
- You cancel or manage it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from the app (Settings › Subscription). Deleting the app or your Wattz account does not cancel it.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google, under their own terms.
- On a new phone, Restore purchases gives you Premium back with the same Apple ID or Google account.
Health and safety
Wattz is a training tool, not medical advice. Check with a doctor before starting or stepping up your training, especially if you have a health condition, and stop at once if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. Set up your smart trainer as its maker describes, on a stable floor, and keep children and pets away from it. Power, heart rate, calories and FTP figures depend on your equipment and remain estimates. You train at your own risk.
Your content
Your rides and the GPX files you import remain yours. You confirm that you have the right to use the files you import. Imported GPX files stay on your phone; each ride can be exported as a FIT file.
Fair use
Do not copy, decompile or resell the app, get around its Premium features, overload or disrupt the service, or access it by automated means. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Intellectual property
The app, its sessions, programmes and plans, its design, the Wattz name and mark belong to Codzilla Sàrl or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Wattz for your own training. Maps © Mapbox, © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Other services
Wattz works with services we do not run: the App Store, Google Play, Apple and Google sign-in, Mapbox maps. Their own terms apply to them.
Availability
We work to keep Wattz running, without being able to guarantee it is never interrupted. Some features need an internet connection.
Liability
As far as Swiss law allows, we are not liable for slight negligence or for indirect loss. Our liability for intent and gross negligence, and any liability that the law does not allow to be limited, remain. Nothing in these terms removes the rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Apple App Store
If you got Wattz from the App Store: these terms are between you and Codzilla Sàrl, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to maintain or support the app, and is not responsible for claims about it. If the app does not conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund its purchase price, if any. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version; significant changes will be announced in the app before they apply.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Courts at our registered office in La Chaux-de-Fonds have jurisdiction, subject to the mandatory rules that protect consumers.
